Komt er nu ook nog een CLK met de tijd of is de E-coupé de vervanger van de CLK, want ik heb al vanalles gelezen

Het zou wel kunnen want de clk zouden ze kunnen baseren op de C (slagje kleiner).

Eerst dacht ik dat de CLK naast de E-coupé zou bestaan maar heb ook al artikels gelezen dat Mercedes gewoon zijn naamsysteem wou vereenvoudigen en dan komt de clk gewoon niet meer voor (misschien wel c-coupé) en al zeker E-coupé en S-coupé (vervanger van de CL)

Er zijn inderdaad bronnen die spreken over een C-klasse coupe, maar dat zou de opvolger zijn van de CLC, en die ging niet meer opgevolgd worden (terecht)

Mercedes E-class Convertible (2010) CAR spy photos

Hours after bringing you the first official photos of the new Mercedes E-Class Coupe, CAR Online can now reveal our first spy shots of the E-Class Convertible. Complete with cloth roof, it's a natural rival to Audi's homegrown rival, the A5 Cabriolet.

What no folding acrobatic metal roof?
Nope, they're reserved for Merc's sporting roadsters such as the SLK and SL. So the E-class Convertible will stick with a canvas roof, all the better for minimising excess weight and cabin intrusion. Our scoop photos reveal the rear end is slightly modified to accommodate the rag top, but otherwise it's nigh-on identical to its hard-top relative.

That means you can safely expect the same five engine choices as in the E-Class Coupe: we're talking three petrol and two diesel units, stretching from a super-efficient four-pot diesel up to a 5.0-litre V8 E500.

We expect to see the Mercedes E-Class Convertible later in 2009, carrying a premium of a few thousand quid over the equivalent E-class Coupe.

Kan iemand dit bevestigen? Of hieromtrent meer informatie geven, want ik was aan het wachten om een E coupé 63 AMG of E cabrio 63 AMG te kopen. Heb mijn huidige CLK ondertussen al helemaal verkoopsklaar gemaakt.

Inderdaad, er zou geen AMG 63 of AMG 65 versie uitkomen van de E coupé / cabrio. Net bevestiging gekregen ... toch wel een jammere zaak en volgens mij een enorme blunder van Mercedes. Een reden werd er mij wel niet opgegeven. Zou het misschien iets te maken kunnen hebben met de economische crisis?

Daimler released yesterday the complete details of the new E Class and today the company has revealed the new 2010 Mercedes E Class Coupe AMG. The new 2010 Mercedes E Class Coupe AMG features both styling and performance modifications.
The speed speed-sensitive steering of the 2010 Mercedes E Class Coupe AMG has a more direct ratio. The interior of the 2010 Mercedes E Class Coupe AMG features black ARTICO leather and multicontour seats.

The design of the new two-door model includes traditional styling elements which give Mercedes-Benz Coupés their unmistakable identity: for example the side windows, which are not interrupted by a B-pillar and are fully retractable. Another hallmark of Mercedes Coupé design is the sports radiator grille with the large central star. At the same time, however, the new model points the way to the future with an exciting, contemporary design language.

The 2010 Mercedes E Class Coupe AMG also fetures on 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a 6 twin-spoke design with 235/40 R 18 tires at the front and 255/35 R 18 at the rear.
